Helicopter Unit

Our Bristol-based Helicopter Unit is an integral part of our operations and consists of seven helicopters (three Bell 206 Jet Rangers, two Twin Squirrels and two Eurocopters) operated by a staff of pilots, observers and maintenance engineers under the charge of our Chief Pilot.

We patrol up to 100,000 kms of line a year on overhead electricity networks - our aim being to provide a top-class service to the electricity industry - something we have provided in terms of line patrol, thermal imaging and rapid fault finding on electricity networks since 1963. 

All our aircraft maintenance is carried out in-house except for major component overhauls.

We are always expanding the work of the Unit, undertaking activities varying from simple transport to specialist low-level survey work for a range of organisations.
